While I haven’t been able to make huge progress on the rigging for the character in my game, I have at least found out that the base model is in a good place and deforming well.
So with that in mind, I’m going to try finalizing the art on the bat today. This way I’ll at least have something good to show off later.
The reason I was putting it off before was that, because it was my first rig, it seemed likely that there’d be some mistakes in the model that would prevent it from deforming properly, and I would have to make changes to it. Which would in turn very likely break any textures I had made for it. But it’s all cool, so now it’s texturing time!
In the interim, here’s something just for fun. Clearly the rig still has problems;
