I’ve finally released Dapper Bat for iOS. Download
Still haven’t been able to get it to work on Android, unfortunately. One UE4 patch fixed it, and the very next one broke it again (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
The earning results so far have reconfirmed my belief that working on assets for other developers would be more profitable. Putting more effort into marketing the game would certainly help, but I haven’t done much to market either my games or my assets, and one group is making pennies a month while the other is making hundreds.
Obviously I love making games, but I want to get out of my day job as fast as possible.
For now I’m going to focus on making more assets. My assets so far have been UE4 Blueprints, which means I could only market them for UE4. I plan to work on some art assets now, so I can release them on UE4, Unity and Gumroad. Art has always been my favorite side of game development anyway.
I still have carpal tunnel in both hands which really limits the art I can make, but I’ll be getting surgery next month. Until then, I’m going to work on stylized materials in Substance Designer.
